Women’s Health of the High Country (WHHC) is a gynecologic and women’s health practice located in Banner Elk, NC. We are dedicated to providing personalized, patient-centered care to women throughout the High Country region.
We are currently seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Nurse (LPN or RN) for a part-time position to join our small, compassionate team starting January 2026.
Position Overview
This role involves both clinical and administrative responsibilities, supporting our providers and ensuring a smooth, welcoming experience for our patients.
Key Responsibilities
Patient check-in and co-pay collection using our electronic system
Recording vital signs and reviewing medical histories
Assisting providers during exams and procedures
Room turnover and cleaning between patients
Responding to patient phone calls and inquiries
Assisting with scheduling, procedure consents, lab orders, and other office documentation
Managing inventory and supplies
Communicating provider messages to patients
Schedule & Hours
Approximately 2 in-office days per week (option for half days or two full days)
Approximately 1-2 hours of remote work per day on non-clinic days
No weekend hours; clinic is closed Saturdays and Sundays
Compensation
Hourly rate: $20
Qualifications
Certified MA, LPN, or RN
Prior experience in women’s health is a plus, but not required
