The Structural Steel Drafter-Detailer transfers information off contract documents/governing codes and drafts them into a shop drawing format. Perks & Benefits: Day Shift: M-F, 6AM-4PM Hourly Wage: Competitive wage, $32.75 - $36.75 depending on experience. DIRECT HIRE position (meaning you start working for this employer immediately on day one, with Benefits) Monday thru Friday: 40-45 hrs. weekly typical (Overtime paid at 1.5 after 40) NO NIGHTS! BENEFITS Simple IRA with Matching Health Insurance Health Savings Account Life Insurance Vision Insurance AFLAC Policies Paid Time Off / ESST Responsibilities: Structural and miscellaneous steel detailing Work collaboratively with project managers and production managers Transfers information off contract documents/governing codes and drafts them into a shop drawing format. Make changes to shop drawings and follow through with the changes completely. Skills: ~ SDS2 experience highly preferred. (May be willing to train the right candidate). ~2-year Technical Degree (preferred). ~ AutoCAD experience (preferred). Qualifications: Proficient at reading and understanding structural and architectural drawings and specifications. Structural and/or misc. steel detailing experience. Fluency with 3D structural steel detailing software. Understanding of steel erection and basic building construction. Knowledgeable in AISC Standard connections, charts, and code of standard practices. Knowledgeable in IBC, OSHA, NAAMM, NOMMA, ASTM, and ANSI Codes. Knowledgeable in AWS Welding symbols. Familiar with standard steel shapes and sizes. Good working knowledge of steel joists and deck. Competent at using Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat. Must be neat, punctual, dependable, have attention to details, follow instructions, work under pressure, organized, able to multi-task and willing to learn.
