PUBLIC NOTICE - DEA Criminal Investigators Join to apply for the PUBLIC NOTICE - DEA Criminal Investigators role at Drug Enforcement Administration . Summary This is a public notice for Drug Enforcement Administration Criminal Investigator GL-1811-7/9/11 positions open to U.S. Citizens. Duties As a DEA Special Agent, you will work as part of an elite investigative team to combat narcotics and drug-related activities, making a difference for national and global security. Conduct complex criminal investigations targeting narcotics and drug-related activities. Prepare comprehensive investigative reports and deliver briefings to senior personnel and other agencies. Identify and apprehend drug traffickers and engaged individuals. Gather and analyze evidence through various investigative means. Testify in court or before grand juries. Additional duties may be assigned based on individual knowledge, skills, and experience. Requirements Conditions of Employment U.S. Citizenship required. Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance. Willingness to accept relocation as needed. Completion of pre-employment medical clearance and annual medical examination. Polygraph required. Male applicants born after 12/31/59 must be registered with the Selective Service. Must be between 21 and 36 years old at the time of appointment unless eligible for certain exemptions. Successful completion of E-Verify employment verification. Must pass a trial period. Possession of a valid state driver's license. Subject to random drug testing. Must complete 16-20 weeks of basic agent training at DEA Academy in Quantico, VA. Qualifications Applicants must meet the qualification requirements by the closing date. Education credentials must be verified with transcripts. Qualification levels vary by grade, with specific experience and education requirements outlined for each level (GL-07, GL-09, GS-11). Law enforcement duties involve strenuous physical activity, firearms use, and exposure to weather. Candidates must pass a pre-employment medical exam and maintain firearm proficiency. The position may require irregular hours and overtime, with applicable law enforcement pay adjustments. Relocation expenses are covered for transfers from other federal positions. The role involves signing a mobility agreement to accept reassignment across locations.
