Job Description




Oncology Nurse Practitioner needed for a large multisite outpatient system.

We are recruiting for 2 Oncology NP's for a renowned oncology center dedicated to providing comprehensive cancer care to patients in the Greater Houston area. We are committed to delivering personalized treatment plans, innovative therapies, and compassionate care. Our multidisciplinary team consists of oncologists, nurse practitioners, urologists , pulmonologist, radiologists, and support staff who collaborate to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Oncology Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in oncology, exceptional clinical skills, and a dedication to patient-centered care. As an Oncology NP, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of cancer patients, working closely with our oncologists and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care to oncology patients, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up care.
- Perform physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans in collaboration with oncologists.
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other oncology treatments, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
- Educate patients and their families about diagnosis, treatment options, side effect management, and post-treatment care.
- Monitor patients progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and manage side effects and complications.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and tumor boards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documentation, and coding.
- Stay current with advancements in oncology treatment, research, and best practices.
- Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families throughout the cancer care continuum.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in clinical research as needed.

Qualifications:
- Master s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current Texas Nurse Practitioner license.
- Certification as an Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner (AOCNP) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in oncology, preferably in a clinical setting.
- Strong clinical skills in oncology patient management, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
