Manager, Software Engineering, Full Stack (Go, Python, Site Reliability Engineering)

As a Manager Software Engineer at Capital One, you will play a leading role in driving a major transformation within our company.
About The Team:
The Enterprise Model Platform (EMP) SRE team is responsible for building and maintaining the model development Kubernetes fleet at Capital One. This includes managing the Kubernetes control plane, workers, storage, addons, custom operators, and applications within each cluster. Our team is the foundation of the ML platform that powers Capital One.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead a team of developers experienced in distributed microservices and full stack systems to create solutions that meet regulatory needs for the company.
- Stay up-to-date with technology trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, and participate in internal and external technology communities. Mentor other members of the engineering community.
- Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that provide powerful experiences for millions of Americans to achieve financial empowerment.
- Use programming languages like JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, and Go, as well as open source frameworks and a variety of AWS tools and services.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- At least 6 years of experience in software engineering (Internship experience does not apply).
- At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
- At least 2 years of people management experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree.
- 7+ years of experience in at least one of the following: JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, or Go.
- 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service.
- 4+ years of experience in open source frameworks.
- 5+ years of people management experience.
- 2+ years of experience in Agile practices.

Salary Range:
New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $197,400 - $225,300 for Manager, Software Engineering.
Please note that salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based on hours worked. Candidates hired for other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
