Job Title: Laboratory Assistant Job Description A Laboratory Assistant will work in a high-volume, production-based environment performing essential components of clinical lab science. Responsibilities + Receive and sort clinical lab specimens. + Prepare specimens for testing and analysis. + Scan and/or enter specimen and patient information into the system. + Ensure that all lab equipment is functioning properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance. + Troubleshoot any specimen-related issues. + Replenish test bench supplies as needed. + Maintain a clean and safe work environment. + Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested. + Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards. Essential Skills + Willingness to learn + An interest in gaining laboratory experience + Data entry skills + High school diploma or equivalent + Comfortable handling biological specimens + Basic computer knowledge + High level of attention to detail + Ability to prioritize and multitask + Strong communication skills both written and verbal + Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods + Must pass a standardized color blindness test Additional Skills & Qualifications + Flexibility to work overtime as needed Work Environment The work environment is fast-paced and production-oriented, requiring the ability to meet established turnaround times. The position may require sitting and/or standing for extended periods. Flexibility in working hours, including overtime, is necessary to meet the demands of the job.
