The Role: As a Buyer you will be responsible for purchase of all or a specific portion of productive and/or non-productive materials, supplies, machinery, tooling and/or services. Responsible for actively participating in the development of commodity strategy, sourcing/negotiations, global/regional material budget execution, and collaborate with suppliers or internal partners. The work is of a sophisticated nature involving a considerable amount of initiative, analytical work and judgment.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities): \n - You will be responsible for purchase of all or a specific portion of productive and/or non-productive materials, supplies, machinery, tooling and/or services.
\n - Responsible for actively participating in development of commodity strategy, sourcing/negotiations, global/regional material budget execution, and interface with suppliers or internal stakeholders.
\n - Work is of a complex nature involving a considerable amount of initiative, analytical work and a high level of independent judgment.
\n - Partner with Program Managers to represent purchasing and communicate program requirements/vehicle line overview.
\n - Nurture relationship with strategic suppliers by acting as a focal point for commercial issue resolution

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)\n - Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, related field, or equivalent work experience
\n - 2+ years relevant post-graduate work experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, logistics, or product development
\n - Experience with commodities required
\n - High level of capability to work independently
\n - Highly proficient oral and written communication skills
\n - High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and complex
\n - Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
\n - Negotiation skills
\n - Ability to prioritize assignments/projects and multi-task within restricted time
\n - Capable of interpreting contracts
\n - Demonstrated global business skills
\n - Ability to travel 5-10% of the time domestically and internationally.

What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications): \n - Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related advanced degree a plus
\n - Cost analysis, or manufacturing experience
\n - Automotive industry experience
\n - Knowledge of materials management
\n - Capable of interpreting market data
\n - Able to read blueprints and to understand basic engineering documents
\n - Solid knowledge of contract law and its applications regarding purchasing processes
